Which of the following stores would you recommend me to purcahse a computer?

Hello. I'm thinking of purchasing a new computer. Probably a notebook. A few people have told me bad experiences about buying through Dell or other online companies. So, I want to stick to a major store, that way if anything should arise, I could just go back to the store with my warranty, as oppossed to shipping my computer off to God knows where and hope they fix it! Which of these would you recommend?

Best Buy

Circut City

Staples

P.C. Richard %26amp; Son

Sears

J%26amp;R Music %26amp; Computer World

Thanks a lot!

First, decide which computer has the features you want or need. Go to the stores that have a large selection, look at the screen, feel the keys, check the weight. Check the price of extended warranties and what they offer. Best Buy has several levels at different prices and Staples has an overnight replacement. All are expensive! Most large stores have good sales around holidays and preschool sales. The only problem is you have to get there early since the quantity is limited. I have purchased from Staples, Best Buy and Circuit City and been satisfied with all. I do not get the extended warranty because if something is going to fail it is 99% probable it is within the first year which is covered by the manufacturer. If you are really rough on a system, get the best warranty that is offered. Dell is available through Wal-Mart now.
Reply:I'd go with Best Buy. But personally, I have bought computer things off the internet all the time no problem. Especially Dell.
Reply:Best Buy has a bad return police (14-day) and a restocking fee. Dells are craptastic.

HP makes great budget laptops.

Unfortunately all new laptops come with Vista, which requires 1gb of RAM just to run decently. So 2gb is recommended.

So, your best bet is to buy a $500'ish AMD Turion X2 Dual core on rebate from Office Max/Depot or Circuit City in the Sunday paper. It will only have 512mb of RAM, but that's the point. You then go to newegg.com and buy a 2gb RAM kit for $85. Bam, for less than $600 you have a dual core notebook with 2gb of RAM.

*EDIT*

This PC $499

Reply:i would advise you to contact dell computers and when you tell them what spec computer you want they will make it for u and send it to you directly to your house. i bought my pc from them 3 years ago and it is still going strong and it is all done by mail order so you dont even have to leave your house.trust me dell is a good company but some people may have had bad experiances with them but all my people who have gone through dell have been very happy. if you need further help contact me through my profile and i will ask my cousin who is a network technician and he will help you with further advice
Reply:In February, I bought a new computer at Best Buy on sale and I was very satisfied! I would go with Best Buy!
